It would be unfair to accuse Wyndham of misogyny, however; the protagonist of Trouble with Lichen is rather the opposite of this character. I listened to the audiobook, which is wonderfully narrated by Daniel Weyman. Chocky’ had so much potential though for me it lacked. Wyndham withholds his revelations as to Chocky’s nature and origin until the very end, which keeps us guessing all the way through, and most readers will not be disappointed.
